Partey, an Arsenal player, is now regarded as a king in Ghana for ensuring that Nigeria will not participate in the World Cup.

On Friday, June 3, 2022, Thomas Partey, an Arsenal midfielder, was awarded a chieftaincy title in Ghana.

His ancestral tribe of Manya Krobo in Ghana’s Eastern Region gave him the title.

The 28-year-old gets honored in his hometown after leading Ghana’s Black Stars to a World Cup berth.

Because Andre Ayew was unavailable for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying double header playoffs versus Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Partey was named captain.

The traditional ruler of the district Partey was invited to the Chieftaincy title coronation by His Royal Majesty, Nene Sakite II.

Partey, whose hometown is in the Manya Krobo District, has been dubbed “Mahefalor.”

“Defender of Krobo Traditional Area” is how Mahefalor is translated. Through his foundation, Partey is actively involved in local charity.

The citation for Partey’s chieftaincy title stated that the chieftaincy title was given to him for his community service, but more importantly for scoring the goal that knocked Nigeria out of the World Cup.

“In gratitude of your exceptional team leadership and your spectacular performance on March 29, 2022 as midfielder and Captain of the Ghana Black Stars to qualify our National Team for the World Cup in Qatar 2022,” the statement read.

“The people of Manya Krobo and indeed His Royal Majesty Nene Sakite Il confer on you the illustrious title of MAHEFALOR, the protector of the state, this day June 3, 2022 in Konor Wem, Odumase-Krobo, in recognition of your devotion to your profession and responsibilities to Ghana.” Congratulations, Ayekoo. OKLIBONE”.

Partey is likely to be a member of Ghana’s team for the FIFA World Cup 2022, which will be held in Ghana later this year.

Ghana will compete in their fourth World Cup, and will be pitted against Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, and South Korea in Group H.
