Darwin Nunez will leave Benfica at 100 percent this summer. He has been telling the club about this for months, without a doubt. He’s had an outstanding season, scoring 34 goals in 41 games across all competitions, and a large transfer is now on his wish list.

Manchester United discussed Darwin’s name with Ralf Rangnick as early as March, but no official offer has been made – it is certainly not the case that the club is “closing in” on Darwin, as some have stated. We’ll see what happens with him in the next weeks.

In January, Arsenal was clearly interested in him, and West Ham had made a €45 million offer on Deadline Day, but Benfica refused because they wanted €55 million, so the price might now be closer to €70/80 million.

Darwin’s agent changed, and the new one is related to Jorge Mendes; Darwin also wants to play in the Champions League, while Arsenal prefers Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.
