OFFICIAL: Inter Milan’s midfielder signed a new contract with the club until 2026

Marcelo Brozovic has officially signed a new deal with Inter. The talented midfielder’s last contract was slated to end in June. The new one will be in place until 2026. Unlike other examples in Serie A, the possibility of him departing was mostly dismissed.

The Croatian midfielder will earn €6 million in each of the next four seasons, according to Sky Sport. Before putting pen to paper, he was earning €3.5 million. During the winter, the parties met to negotiate a few times. Despite the curiosity of other European powerhouses, things always seem to be heading in the right direction.

In January 2015, Brozovic joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb. He’s been a key member of the squad since Luciano Spalletti took over as coach in 2018. After playing in various roles during his early days in Milan, he transformed into a deep-lying playmaker and has since been a key member of the lineup.

So far, the 29-year-old has made 279 appearances and scored 26 goals. He helped the team win the Scudetto last season and the Supercoppa this season. When Brozovic was not in the starting lineup in 2021-2022, Inter never had a winning season.

The Nerazzurri will now focus on their other players after completing their most important extension. “I am under contract with my club until 2023, and I believe I will stay longer than that,” Milan Skriniar said earlier today after accepting an award in Slovakia. I believe the front office is pleased with my work and will award me a new contract.”
