After being found guilty of match tampering versus Inter Allies, Ashanti Gold will be demoted to division 2.

The DC has also sanctioned club officials and players who took part in the match.

“According to Article 6(3)(h) of the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019, Ashantigold SC shall be demoted to Division Two League at the end of the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season,” stated part of the ruling.

“That Ashantigold SC be fined GHc100,000.00 in accordance with Article 6(1)(c) and Article 6(4) of the GFA Disciplinary Code 2019.”

Inter Allies defender Hashim Musah claims he scored two purposeful own goals in their match against AshantiGold to prevent an alleged match-fixing conspiracy, and that his teammates praised him for sabotaging the ‘pre-arranged’ result.

With the score at 5-0, Musah came on for Inter Allies against Ashanti Gold, scoring two own goals in the final 12 minutes before being replaced as the game concluded 7-0.

Inter Allies FC will be relegated to Division Two after being found guilty of match manipulation in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match versus Ashantigold at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Matchday 34.

Inter Allies has been relegated to Division Two, according to the GFA DC’s judgment.

The new regulation will go into force in the league season 2022/23.

The Disciplinary Committee has additionally sanctioned club officials and players involved in the aforementioned match.

The GFA Disciplinary Committee reached the following decision:
