Mauricio Pochettino and PSG reached agreement to part ways as club’s manager
Pochettino has been in charge for 18 months, and in his first full season, he led the team to the Ligue 1 title, finishing 15 points clear of second-placed Marseille, the largest margin of victory in any of Europe’s top five leagues.
The club’s Champions League last-16 defeat to Real Madrid influenced Pochettino’s decision to leave Paris.
He was sacked on Wednesday, according to ESPN, though no official announcement has been made.
Following the replacement of Leonardo as sporting director by Luis Campos, Nice chief Christophe Galtier is viewed as the front-runner.
After taking over as Thomas Tuchel’s replacement in 2021, Pochettino became the second manager under Qatari ownership to guide PSG to the Champions League semi-finals.
Last season, his squad was undefeated at home in the Champions League and Ligue 1.
Pochettino, on the other hand, has opted to depart Tottenham before the 2022/23 season.
