Manchester United is pursuing action against fans reaction towards Diego Simeone
On Tuesday night, Simeone observed a historic victory for Atletico Madrid, as Renan Lodi fired Los Rojiblancos into the Champions League quarterfinals.
Atletico Madrid defeated Manchester United 1-0 at Old Trafford, knocking United out of the Champions League in the Round of 16.
Simeone rushed down the tunnel after the game, as is customary, and some United supporters took the loss too personally.
Simeone was hit by missiles ranging from plastic bottles to other objects as he reached the tunnel.
The incident did not go well for United, and the club is now working with the authorities to identify the culprits.
The club has confirmed that any supporters who are identified will be barred from attending matches for three years.
Leeds United fans were recently banned for life for hurling missiles at Manchester United players, which is an interesting coincidence.
