Manchester City has dismissed former Ghana youth attacker Aminu Mohammed, five years after paying $2 million for the wonderkid, shattering the Ghanaian transfer fee record.

Animu unfortunately failed to meet expectations after showing promise as a young man.

The WAFA graduate and former Ghana Premier League talented and dynamic potential is dwindling.

The 21 year-old was released by NAC Breda after failing to make the first squad at Belgian second-tier side Lommel SK during his first loan spell.

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich were both interested in signing Aminu, dubbed “Neymar” for his amazing dribbling and scoring abilities.

His international achievements drew the attention of PSG, a high-spending French club, as he scored twice against them in the Al Kass tournament in Qatar in 2016.

The talented Ghanaian youngster was sent to Red Bull Salzburg, WAFA’s parent club in Austria, to train with their junior team, and he later joined them for the Al Kass tournament, where he was noticed by European clubs.

Aminu Mohammed was handed the lucrative contract following extensive talks with the Manchester-based club after two weeks of observation.

Last week, Man City completed talks with his Ghanaian top-flight club WAFA after signing the highly gifted winger with a knack for scoring spectacular goals.

Mohammed was a member of Ghana’s U17 team which qualified for the 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup in India.
