Former Ghana U20, Medeama and Kotoko star retires from Football at age of 28
Former Asante Kotoko and Medeama SC attacker Kwame Boahene has prematurely bowed out from active football for personal reasons.
Boahene, who is currently in Holland, has retired from professional football to pursue his interest at a different profession in the European country.
The 28-year-old speedster has been without a club after ending his three-year stint at Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in 2019.
Boahene previously had stint with Liberty Professionals before joining Asante Kotoko from Medeama SC in 2016 in a deal worth Gh¢ 95,000.
He helped Asante Kotoko to clinched the 2017 MTN FA Cup after whipping their arch rivals Hearts of Oak 3-0 in the finals staged at the Tamale Sports Stadium.
Boahene was part of the Ghana U20 team that won silver medal at the 2013 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and bronze medal at the FIFA U20 World Cup held in Turkey.
He also featured for the Black Stars B team under Coach Maxwell Konadu.
