Bayern Munich has renewed Manuel Neuer’s contract
Bayern Munich has extended Manuel Neuer’s contract until June 2024, according to the club.
The 36-year-old has had a trophy-laden career with the club since his debut in 2011, and he was chosen club captain in 2017.
“I’m thrilled that my time at Bayern will continue,” Neuer said.
“As a goalie, captain, and leader, I want to provide assistance and play a key role in achieving our major goals.
“We want to keep winning and compete for the DFB Cup and the Champions League once more.”
Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn was also overjoyed by Neuer’s new deal.
“Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper on the planet and has been for years,” Kahn said.
“It’s a huge accomplishment to be continuously world class for so long.
“We’re overjoyed that his contract has been renewed.
“Manuel has played a significant role in Bayern’s history.”
The club’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic, lauded the goalkeeper as well, stating he will continue to play an important role in the coming years.
Salihamidciz said, “We’re thrilled that Manuel Neuer’s contract has been extended until 2024.”
“Manuel has been our captain since 2011, has long been the best goalkeeper in the world, and is, without a doubt, one of our most important players.
“We aim to be successful in all tournaments in the coming years. On and off the field, Manuel is a huge supporter of our squad.
“He’ll continue to play a critical role in assisting us in achieving our goals.”
